Dennis the “MENACE”,that’s what Genie used to call him lovingly…Tease him with this name when he was angry and cheer up his mood when he was sad..They emboldened the perfect pair category..Dennis was what every gal could long for..(minus few things!!! Nobody is perfect remember J ) Dennis and Genie met each other at workplace..Genie used to hate Dennis in the beginning..Dennis was an average looking guy ( You cannot have love at first sight with Dennis!) even for that matter Genie was not PYT…But yes she had that infectious spirit which could liven up any party or any gathering..always smiling n laughing exposing her teeth..Yes she used to cry too, n mind you it was bucketful of tears..Dennis used to have a hard time consoling her.. Genie was stupid, cranky, lovable,intelligent (only @ work ),mature (only while handling her projects ), independent ( only in her thoughts)…How can a person be like this ,..So varied,so colorful….

Dennis was quiet, 80% introvert, stubborn, practical, mature guy….But at times he could be very irritating and stone hearted…Now that’s a weird possibility..How could Genie and Dennis be together..Yes they were together..Genie used to care for him a lot and Dennis was full of affection for her…Tho they were always @ odds with each other,in their hearts they knew their journey ended at each other’s door ..They had never expressed love for each other..but had shown that in their own individual ways…Genie adored the fact when Dennis could express his affection anywhere be it in Public or in private…Dennis was floored by Genie’s energy..always ready to do something, always upto something, restless, always in a hurry soul..

Life is not rosy always..Odd situations are testing time for your relationships…Genie had gone out with her friends and her ex lover was also present in that party..Genie had overdose of tequila’s and Dennis knew she experiences a blackout when she goes high on alcohol…She did not return to home that night and after repeated calls her ex lover picked up the call..Dennis asked about her whereabouts and offered to pick her up..Larry told Dennis that she is fine and sleeping..But Dennis could not control himself and went to his place..Thankfully he knew the place..Larry was a little taken aback when he found Dennis @ the door..He apologized for disturbing and wanted to take Genie..He picked fast sleeping Genie and brought her home..As usual Genie did not remember anything next morning..Her friends told her the entire story..It was three days that Dennis did not speak to her properly..He always cited work as the reason..And she could feel something is bothering him..

Enough was enough, one evening after work she dragged him to her place and asked him what is the problem..To which he replied, no point of discussing as you do not remember anything..After lot of coaxing, he blurted out…Dennis knew that nothing went between Larry and Genie that night, but somehow the fact that she was with him was bothering him beyond doubt..He was deeply hurt by that fact when Genie knows what alcohol does to her, why did she take it..And probably under too much of alcohol influence , something might have happened..After their long discussions, Dennis just ended the matter with:If he would have been with his ex girlfriend in the same situation, how  would she reacted…

Genie did not have any answer..

Jenny was furiously working on one urgent deadline when her cellphone started singing Akon’s Blame it on me..She picked her phone in an irritated manner..She had to pick it up else her possessive boyfriend would have eaten her head away…She just wished how happy was she alone..In the middle of all these thoughts she answered to Henry..Henry was @ his sweetest best..Hi honey chrooned in her ears…”Henry,Can I give you a call back ” to which he replied “I am waiting for you for dinner “..Jenny didnot know how many hours she has to slog it out for that assignment..She replied in an uninteresting manner to Henry that before leaving she will buzz him..

It was way past 12 am when Jenny hit the send button and whew completed that task..Atleast now her finicky boss will not have a reason to be discontented…What a sense of accomplishment..Bravo Jenny,she said to herself..She was a gal who was happiest when she was working and completion of any task always cheered her up..She picked her bag and checked her cellphone..Not again..10 missed calls and 15 sms..

She parked her car in the basement and headed for the lift..She was damn hungry and was in no mood to fight or have any argument..Door bell rang…Once,twice,thrice..Finally she opened the door with the extra key..Henry had just finished food and was clearing up the dining table…He didnot even look at her neither did she expect that..She gulped water from the refrigerator and helped herself..Yeah, food was good…Henry broke the silence by shouting at the top of his voice..What do you think of yourself Jenny ? Jenny cleared the plates and said Nothing..I am just Jenny..And as usual what Jenny had expected..Blames, Past fights, His expectations vs her actions…And then to her horror..He started using abusive words..Jenny always gave enough chances to any person..But once it crossed her patience, she used to put a full stop with that person..

So that was the moment..She picked her bag, kept the house keys and closed the door never to open it again…
